Lamar Odom is heading to Spain to play basketball in what might be his last chance to save his career.
Lamar Odom is trying to rescue what is left of his basketball career, but he has to head overseas to do it. In the midst of his divorce from Khloé Kardashian and after a nearly two-year break from professional basketball, the former NBA star has signed a two-month contract with the Spanish team Baskonia.
“We’re very happy to have signed a very important player who has had a long and fruitful career in the NBA,” Laboral Kutxa President Josean Querejeta said in a statement. “We’ve worked very hard over the last couple of days to make this happen, we felt we needed a boost and had to break the collective cloud that has been hanging over us over the last while [sic] so we could get back to winning.”
Talks to rejoin the Clippers in 2013 fell through when team management chose to sign healthier players in the midst of Odom’s rumored drug use.
The Spanish team has been lighting up their Twitter page with photos of Odom making promotional appearances in Spain.
