After the shocking announcement that Erin Andrews will be replacing Brooke Burke-Charvet on Dancing With the Stars, the show’s former dance contestant spoke out about taking over the co-host’s position.

Addressing the report of her new gig for the first time, Andrews posted a message on Twitter sharing her feelings on being the new co-host of the popular dance competition. “Very excited! I have HUGE shoes to fill RT @GMA: #DWTS Announcement: Joining @Tom_Bergeron as a co-host this season will be @ErinAndrews!” she wrote.

After seven seasons as Tom Bergeron’s co-host on DWTS, Burke-Charvet was suddenly out of a job with the announcement of her “elimination” coming just weeks before the show’s premiere. However, the 42-year-old mom of four took it all in stride and said she understands the show needs to make changes in order to stay current.

“So much chatter bout DWTS. I’m really cool everyone. I did my 7 seasons, had a blast!” Burke-Charvet posted on Twitter on Sunday, Feb. 23. “I’m ready for a change. I love your loyalty. Thank you!”

Meanwhile, Andrews is looking forward to her new duties on DWTS and says she will be very busy since she’s still holding her current spot as a Fox Sports football analyst. “It will be a BUSY fall..getting tips from @michaelstrahan on how to balance it,” she tweeted, referring to Michael Strahan who co-hosts on Live with Kelly and Michael while working at FOX Sports as well.

Andrews, like Burke-Charvet before her, was a former contestant on the show, coming in as a finalist in Season 10 with her pro dance partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy.
