Many of you may be asking how the 300 franchise can have a sequel when nearly all of the characters died in the last film. Rise of an Empire isn’t exactly a sequel, it’s a parallel story that intersects the original battle at Thermopylae and stays within the same historical context. This movie focuses on an Athenian general named Themistokles (Sullivan Stapleton) and Artemisia (Eva Green), a vengeful female commander of the Persian navy.
300: Rise of an Empire battles for the box office on March 7.

We all think we know the story, but Black Swan Director Darren Aronofsky is pushing the biblical tale to the edge. Here, Noah is a bitter and angry man, obsessed with building the boat per God’s instructions. Aronofsky claims he’s following the tale from Genesis as closely as possible though the movie is already attracting controversy. It stars Russell Crowe as Noah and Jennifer Connelly as his wife, Naameh.
Noah floods theaters on March 28.
