Along with supporters near and far calling on the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences to pay tribute to Jones, who was killed last week while working on the upcoming film Midnight Rider, those attending the ceremony are being urged to wear a black ribbon as a show of support.
“Help us spread the word by tweeting or emailing the presenters, nominees & attendees to ask if they will wear a #ribbonforsarah to the #oscars on Sunday,” a Facebook message on Wear a ribbon to the Oscars for Sarah explains. The page is rapidly growing in popularity.

Another post on the page from its administrator, who also works in the film industry, tugs at the heartstrings.
Appealing to all to support Slates for Sarah, the post reads, “We give more life to life. We create. We dream. We run cables and pull dollys. We set dress and we do make up. We work long hours to tell stories and create worlds upon worlds. We are the stuff dreams are made of. So please, remember Sarah Jones as she stands for all of us. WE ARE ALL SARAH JONES!…Wear a ribbon to the Oscars for Sarah.”
