It’s easy to see that Taylor Swift is successful, and it looks like she has again topped the list of money makers in music.
Love her or hate her, Taylor Swift is a force to be reckoned with. The country princess tops the list of Billboard‘s Money Makers list for the second time, which adds up artists’ earnings — before their sponsorship deals.

According to the list, Swift brought in more than $39 million in 2013, in large part because of her album Red, which was released in October of 2012. The album came in eighth for most albums sold in 2013. Swift also came in fifth for digital downloads (which translates to 10 million copies), and sixth in digital royalties.
Beyond her music sales, Swift made a killing on the road in 2013. Her six-month Red tour brought in around $30 million in ticket sales alone.
At her young age, Swift is already working on giving back. She not only topped the list of money makers, but she also topped the list of most-charitable celebs in 2013.
Two years ago, Swift also came in first on the Money Makers list, bringing in just shy of $36 million.
Close behind Swift is another country star. Kenny Chesney came in at just under $33 million on Billboard’s list. Chesney’s income came from the release of his album Life on a Rock — his seventh album that made it to number one, according to Billboard. He also set out on his “No Shoes Nation” tour.

No surprise, Justin Timberlake came in at number three after a releasing a new album and a year of touring. He brought in just under $32 million for the year.
The list doesn’t compile the overall income of each musician, it only compiles numbers from Nielsen SoundScan, Nielsen BDS and Billboard Boxscore, which means they are ranked based on music and tour sales, but sponsorship and merchandising aren’t included.
Rounding out the top 10 are Bon Jovi, the Rolling Stones, Beyoncé, Maroon 5, Luke Bryan, Pink and Fleetwood Mac.
