CBS knows a hit when they see one. The network has sealed the deal with Warner Bros. TV for three more seasons of The Big Bang Theory.
The Big Bang Theory fans should rejoice today because they will be getting another three seasons of the top-rated sitcom. According to Variety, CBS struck a deal with Warner Bros. TV to secure the show’s future on the network.
This would ensure that the comedy will run through the 2016-17 television season. The show, starring Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting and Jim Parsons, has had its highest-rated season this year after seven years on the air.

The entertainment periodical also revealed that Warner Bros. TV is negotiating contracts with the core group of actors including Cuoco-Sweeting, Parsons and Johnny Galecki.
In a statement on Wednesday, CBS Entertainment chairman Nina Tassler said, “Comedy is a big part of our schedule, and The Big Bang Theory is the biggest comedy force on television. This multi-year deal further strengthens our network’s position for future seasons and marks another chapter in the great partnership CBS enjoys with Warner Bros. Television for delivering audiences the best in comedy. We’re proud to work with and showcase the incredible talents of Chuck Lorre, Steve Molaro and this amazing cast every week.”

Lorre developed the show for CBS along with Bill Prady. Molaro has been the sitcom’s showrunner for the last two seasons.
The strength of CBS comedies is vast in comparison to other networks. With the power of their other shows Two and a Half Men, Mike & Molly and Mom, CBS continues to be the network to beat.
