Ellen Page‘s gayness is just fine; no prayers for her soul necessary. Check out what the actress had to say on Twitter to a pastor who wrote her with concerns.
When Ellen Page came out as gay on Valentine’s Day this year, her awesome speech caught the attention of many, including at least one pastor.
Though we don’t know exactly what message the religious leader sent to the actress, we do know that now that she’s out, this star won’t be ashamed of who she is.
Ellen Page and coming out in America >>
In a message that’s safe to say was well-received, having garnered over 9,000 retweets and twice as many favorites since it was posted Saturday, the star boldly declined the love of the “Heavenly Father.”
Page, who came out in part because she wants “others to have an easier and more hopeful time” and also due to feeling “a personal obligation and a social responsibility” to do so, quipped:
2 da Pastor who wrote me-Being gay isn't a belief. My soul isnt struggling& I don't want arms of Heavenly Father around me.A girls arms? Yes.

One Twitter user even went so far as to reply to Page on the topic of a girl’s arms for hugs, “I volunteer, if you’re holding auditions for that.”

The identity of Ellen Page’s girlfriend, if she currently has one, has not yet been made public. As pictured here, the 27-year-old brunette opted to pose for photographers solo at the 2014 Vanity Fair Oscar Party in West Hollywood in early March.
“I suffered for years because I was afraid to be out,” Page admitted during her coming out speech, in a statement the pastor may need to revisit.
Assuring all she’s now doing better than ever, she added, “My spirit suffered, my mental health suffered and my relationships suffered. And I’m standing here today with all of you on the other side of that pain.”
