Lorde is one young lady who is unafraid to let the world see her flaws. Fighting back against photo editing, the singer posted a pair of photos to Twitter.
Lorde’s skin is peppered with acne marks and small imperfections, and she’s not ashamed. Refusing to comply with the widespread practice of editing photos on a quest for perfection, the “Royals” singer is telling fans there’s nothing wrong with so-called flaws.
The 17-year-old beauty from New Zealand, who was given the name Ella Marija Lani Yelich-O’Connor at birth, took to Twitter over the weekend to fight back against being digitally altered by sharing a pair of photos. In the first, the feminist‘s skin has been made to look smooth and clear, while in the second image, traces of acne marks can be seen.

In a Tumblr post meant to explain her kerfuffle with Taylor Swift, Lorde previously shared she feels “there’s a lot of importance placed on physical perfection in this industry, and I wish my favourite stars didn’t look perfect.”
She added, “I think fans (me included) have these feelings of worthlessness, like they’ll never be as pretty/talented/whatever, as a result of this intense Photoshop culture and the endless strive for perfection.”
