Based on the best-selling book of the same name, Heaven Is For Real is now a movie based on the true story of a little boy’s mystical experience. Watch our exclusive featurette to find out what he says heaven is like.
Greg Kinnear stars as Todd Burpo, a small-town family man and pastor dealing with difficult times. When his articulate 4-year-old son, Colton (Connor Corum), is rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery, Todd and his wife, Sonja (Kelly Reilly), are relieved that Colton is going to be OK.
But when Colton wakes up, he has a startling story to tell. Not only does he recount events from his parents’ lives that he could never have known, he gives a detailed account of heaven. Yes, the afterlife.

While the boy is convinced he went to the other side and came back, his father struggles with his own faith. About his character, Kinnear said, “What’s interesting is that the events that take place ask Todd to go further than he ever anticipated going, to dig deeper than he had any expectation of doing, and I found that fascinating and even more so because of the ramifications for the whole community.”
For director and co-writer, Randall Wallace (Braveheart), the movie posed many questions.”This story gets into some fascinating topics. The question of what happens when we die is certainly a question that everyone in life ultimately asks themselves.
“What makes us feel alive right now? What is the source of faith? What motivates us? What is the instrument of change in our lives? What makes us stop fearing and start moving forward in our lives with belief and confidence? What I liked about this story is that it pertains to all of that.”
