VIDEO: Kim and Kanye hunt for wedding venues in Paris

Kimye are getting closer to their wedding date, and it looks like they may have finally found a venue for the big day.

It sounds like a pretty sure bet that Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are getting married in or around Paris, but it’s still not clear exactly where. The couple has been in the city venue-hunting in the last few days, and they may have settled on a French chateau as their venue — except it may not be an actual French chateau.

The Chateau Louis XIV is located 14 miles outside Paris in Louveciennes, but according to the Daily Mail, the building is actually only six years old. It is supposed to look like a castle from the 17th century, but the 54,000-square-foot chateau looks much more like a way-too-extravagant modern building. Kardashian and West’s previously-rumored wedding location was the Palace of Versailles, but this chateau seems to be the new frontrunner.

The wedding is reportedly taking place on May 24, but Kimye may run into some legal troubles. According to the Sun, to be married in France, foreigners must live in the country for 40 days before the wedding date. West previously owned a condo in the country, but the decision may end up being left to the local mayor.

Despite the grandness of the new wedding location, Kardashian has said she and West have decided on an intimate wedding.

“As we are going along, we realize we want it to be smaller and more intimate than people are imagining and thinking,” she told Ryan Seacrest.

While the couple’s daughter, North West, will likely be an important part of their wedding, she was not out and about with the couple on their search. She’s also reportedly not invited to their honeymoon, either.

“North won’t be there,” a source told Us Weekly. “And Kim’s not telling people where it is.”
