Hello, SheKnows. It was a crazy week in the world of Dancing With the Stars. Last week, Candace and I were up for elimination. We went into rehearsals working hard, and Candace made a couple of breakthroughs this week.

Meet our SheKnows guest blogger Mark Ballas of DWTS >>

We were both bummed about being saved last, so this week we kicked things up a notch. We danced the cha-cha this week, and I wanted Candace to get out of her shell and become the confident, sexy woman I know she can be. I’m so proud of what Candace did this week, and the work she put into the dance. She realized it’s OK to have fun and be yourself. Like she said, confidence is sexy, and when Candace is confident, she’s at her best.

Sometimes when Candace is performing, she can get too much into her head and tense up. It’s something we’ve been working on. This week I wanted Candace to just dance and have fun with it. We danced to “I Love It” and I think Candace really did. Her leg movement was on point, and the judges noticed.

I have to say it was rough being saved last again this week. I was nervous before elimination, but again I had a feeling we were OK and we’d make it through. I felt confident in our performance last week, and I know our fans have our backs. A huge thank-you to the fans for voting for us.

Drew and Cheryl did a great job this season. They really brought a lot of fun to the show. I know we’re all going to miss having them around.

Next week is Latin Week on the show and we’ve got some fun stuff up our sleeves. This week is another busy week of rehearsals, and Candace and I are going to be working as hard as ever to kill it. If you want to see us continue on, there’s still time to vote. Voting is open until 5 p.m. PST.

I’ve also got something very special to announce this week. It all starts today at 1:00 p.m. PST on my Facebook page (http://facebook.com/markballas). It’s gonna be a fun couple of weeks.

Until next week,

Mark Ballas
