Haim — who starred in Lucas, Silver Bullet and The Lost Boys — was a bona fide ’80s teen idol. However, following his massive success at such a young age, he fell prey to the all-too-common child star pitfall of drug addiction. On March 10, 2010, Haim was pronounced dead at 2:15 a.m. after his mother (and roommate) saw him collapse and called 911. In May, the LA County Coroner’s Office released the results of the autopsy, which divulged Haim died of pneumonia. However, much was made of the fact that Haim (using various aliases) had acquired 553 prescription pills in the 32 days leading up to his death.
