Whoa! Scotty McCreery speaks about robbery at gunpoint

American Idol alum Scotty McCreery endured a terrifying experience on Monday after his home was broken into, and he was held at gunpoint.

As we previously reported, American Idol alum Scotty McCreery was left shaken after he was held at gunpoint during a home invasion that took place during the early hours of Monday morning.

The local police said the “See You Tonight” hit maker was at an apartment complex near North Carolina State University’s campus in Raleigh — the campus where McCreery is a college sophomore — when the incident took place, and he and his friends were held at gunpoint throughout the invasion.

And now the 20-year-old star has decided to speak out about his terrifying ordeal. McCreery took to Facebook and then Twitter to inform fans of the events that unfolded on Monday.

“About last night’s robbery, yes, it was definitely a very scary night,” McCreery said of the home invasion by three armed gunmen. “Luckily, my friends and I are safe and the Raleigh PD is on the case.”

McCreery told fans, “I will share more when the time is right, but as of now we do not want to do or say anything that could hinder the investigation.”

Although severely shaken up, luckily none of the victims of the home invasion were injured, and this is something the country singer feels truly thankful for.

“Thanks to everyone for the prayers and support. A huge thank you to the Raleigh PD for their quick response and hard work in solving this case,” he tweeted.
