Nope, Angelina Jolie’s daughter Shiloh doesn’t want to be a star

Angelina Jolie may be one of Hollywood’s most wanted actresses, but don’t make the mistake of thinking her kids want to follow in her footsteps.

You may think that having very successful Hollywood actors as your parents would drive you to want to follow in their footsteps, but if you’re Shiloh Pitt, then that’s not the case.

Angelina Jolie has previously revealed that her costume in Maleficent was so terrifying that they couldn’t just use any child actress to play the part of Princess Aurora, and thus she attempted to recruit her 7-year-old daughter Shiloh.

“She’d be a horned creature” instead Jolie confessed of her daughter, who was not impressed by the thought of playing a princess in the forthcoming Disney film Maleficent. “I asked Shiloh about being Aurora, and she laughed in my face,” Jolie recalled to Elle‘s June 2014 issue.

While Shiloh wasn’t up for the role, her younger sibling Vivienne certainly was.

“For young Aurora, they needed a child who wouldn’t be fazed by the Mistress of All Evil hissing, ‘I don’t like children’ in her face,” Jolie explained.

“And my little Vivienne — we call her my shadow, because there’s nothing I can do to shake her. I can be tired, I can be grumpy, I can be in a terrible mood, and she doesn’t care. It’s ‘Mommy, Mommy,’ and she’ll cling to me.”

“We knew that she would still do that thing, she’d still smile at me and insist that I pick her up. So we couldn’t really cast anybody else,” Jolie revealed about casting her daughter Vivienne in the role of Princess Aurora.

Jolie may be one of the most beautiful and successful Hollywood actresses, but her family is far more important to her than fame. In fact, she hopes her children don’t follow in her footsteps. “I would really prefer they do something else,” she confessed to the mag.

Maleficent hits theaters on May 30.
