Hollywood Moms get real: Sex life after baby

Motherhood is without a doubt a life-changing experience, and one of the ways it changes your life the most is in the bedroom. Here’s what a few famous mamas had to say about sex after having a baby.

Who would have known that the crazy party girl from Jersey Shore would make such a normal, endearing mama? Snooki, now expecting baby No. 2 with her fiance Jionni LaValle, surprised the world when she gave birth to her precious little meatball Lorenzo and became a totally chill mom. And, like most typical moms, she admits sex isn’t quite the same as it was before. “We still try to have sex a lot, and I think we do, but it is definitely different after a baby,” she elaborated. “It kind of hurts a little bit. You know, ’cause you pushed something out of there. It kind of makes it difficult, but we still try to have sex — because you still have to have a relationship.”

When it comes to motherhood, Angelina Jolie has her hands full with six beautiful children. And, although we imagine she must be at least moderately exhausted most of the time (if not, we need to know her secret), the stunning actress still makes time to get intimate with her soon-to-be husband, Brad Pitt. As a matter of fact, the happy couple keeps the romance going in between babies and even when Jolie is pregnant. “[Pregnancy is] great for the sex life,” she told Entertainment Weekly while carrying twins Vivienne and Knox. “It just makes you a lot more creative, so you have fun.”

Kendra Wilkinson has never been shy about sex, and we find her candor on the subject in her book Being Kendra completely refreshing. While it may seem like celebrities get back to normal at hyper-speed after having babies, Wilkinson reveals that at least one thing didn’t immediately rebound following the birth of her son, Hank IV, with NFL hubby Hank Baskett. “As parents, now we have to try to fit in sex whenever we can,” she wrote. “In a nutshell, that’s my new sex life as a mom, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world.” The E! starlet, who will soon welcome a daughter, embraces quality over quantity these days, revealing, “I try to keep my marriage exciting and make sure Hank is happy.”

Christina Aguilera

Christina Aguilera, whose son Max is 6, asserts that sex has remained an important part of her life from the time he was born until the present (and beyond). “I’m an artist and expressing myself in a sexual way, no matter how that changes throughout the years, is something that has always come naturally to me,” the songbird revealed last year, noting, “I feel sexier than ever because you know what you want.” Hopefully Aguilera can maintain her sexual optimism through midnight feedings and coasting on two hours of sleep — she’s expecting baby No. 2.

Hilary Duff

Little Luca is 2 years old now but, prior to announcing their separation in January, Hilary Duff and Mike Comrie were still trying to find that balance between new parenthood and their old sex life. “It’s definitely different,” Duff told Access Hollywood. “I’m so exhausted at the end of each day, so I’m like, ‘Can this not happen at night when I’m exhausted?'” she laughed. “You find different times to do it.” And while the couple is currently estranged, they remain committed to parenting Luca as a team — they’ve vacationed as a family and were even spotted rocking at Coachella sans Luca — which we think bodes well for their marriage and their sex life.

Jessica Simpson

When Jessica Simpson announced she was pregnant with baby No. 2 mere months after giving birth to baby Maxwell, we can’t say we were all that surprised. Simpson likes to talk, and she likes sex and she definitely likes to talk about sex. When cute little Maxwell was only 3 weeks old, the star divulged to People that she just couldn’t keep her hands off of her fiancé, Eric Johnson. “I’ve kind of broken one rule. I think I have the sexiest man in the world,” she gushed. “So that’s the rule I break.” Translation: The couple was going against doctor’s orders by getting frisky. Wonder if 6-month-old baby brother Ace will be getting a sibling soon?
