George Clooney holds A-lister engagement bash

George Clooney celebrated his engagement to Amal Alamuddin with his famous A-lister friends at a big bash over the weekend.

Famous celebrities flocked to help celebrate George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin’s engagement at a big bash in Malibu this Sunday night.

Clooney and his new fiancée were joined at Malibu’s Café Habana this weekend by some of Hollywood’s biggest stars, including Cindy Crawford and her husband Rande Gerber. U2’s front man Bono and his bandmate The Edge were also in attendance to help kick off their pal’s married future.

The partygoers were gathered at a private section of the restaurant where they took part in a karaoke session. While Clooney declined to sing, Bono was front and center with a rendition of Oasis’ “Wonderwall,” Us Weekly reported. The hot spot where the party was held is Gerber’s restaurant, and he is also Clooney’s business partner.

The engaged couple appeared happy and snuggly with each other, an eyewitness claimed, saying that “George seemed sweet with his fiancée.” The insider added that the lovebirds kissed once, “and [Clooney] had his arm around [Amal] the majority of the time. They looked happy.”

Another source told People magazine that “after the toast, George and his fiancée were all over each other,” and were doing “lots of hugging” throughout the evening.

Clooney was previously married to Talia Balsam from 1989 to 1993, and famously said he’d never marry again. But, upon meeting Alamuddin, the Monuments Men star was instantly smitten. A friend of the actor said that the two are perfect for each other.

“He has found someone who is as smart as he is and who is her own independent woman,” the pal told People. “Amal seems to be the best for him he’s ever had.”
