Hot-blooded females everywhere can look to the next X-Men spin-off with anticipation now that it’s been confirmed Channing Tatum will star.
X-Men producer Lauren Shuler Donner confirmed Channing Tatum will play Gambit in a red-carpet interview with Total Film at the London premier of X-Men: Days of Future Past.
“He’s a rogue, Channing — he’s a rascal, just like Remy LeBeau,” said Donner.

Remy LeBeau is Gambit, a mutant with the ability to create and control kinetic energy. Although not played by Tatum, the character did make an appearance in the 2009 film X-Men Origins: Wolverine, played by Taylor Kitsch.
Although story details have yet to be released, odds are good that Tatum will be brushing up on his card-throwing skills and bo staff moves to play Gambit, who is also skilled in hand-to-hand combat.
Tatum made his desire to play the character known in a 2014 MTV interview. “Gambit is the only X-Man I’ve ever loved,” Tatum said. “I would die to play him.”
