PHOTO: Zack Snyder reveals Ben Affleck as Batman

Ben Affleck is Batman, and there is now proof. Director Zack Snyder tweeted out a first look at the Caped Crusader.

Ben Affleck has yet to win over all Batman fans, but he may have gotten one step closer with a preview of his new look. Director Zack Snyder tweeted out the photo from Affleck’s Batcave.

Affleck will be playing the Caped Crusader in the sequel to Man of Steel, which (at least, for now) will be called Batman vs. Superman. Not everyone was happy with the selection, especially after Affleck’s role as another superhero — Daredevil — which he calls the biggest regret of his career.

“The only movie I actually regret is Daredevil. It just kills me,” Affleck told Playboy back in December. “I love that story, that character, and the fact that it got f***ed up the way it did stays with me. Maybe that’s part of the motivation to do Batman.”

Affleck’s Batman look is a mixture of the Dark Knight and the comic book superhero, with obvious muscle outlines, but also a comic-like utility belt and other features.

Snyder’s tweet isn’t the first look he has posted of the new film — just a day before, he tweeted a photo of the new and improved Batmobile.

Henry Cavill will be reprising his role as the Man of Steel, and Fast and Furious‘s Gal Gadot will join them as Wonder Woman. Amy Adams and Diane Lane will return, and Jesse Eisenberg has been cast as Lex Luthor.

The greenlighting of Batman vs. Superman was big news, but will also lead to even more big news. Snyder’s next project will be Justice League, a project that has been a long time coming. According to the Los Angeles Times, Warner Bros. has yet to confirm which characters will appear in the film.

Batman vs. Superman opens May 6, 2016, the same day as Captain America 3.
