Beyoncé & Jay Z lead 2014 BET Award nominations

The 2014 BET Award nominations have been announced, and Beyoncé, Jay Z, Pharrell, Rihanna, Ariana Grande and more are up for honors.

Solange has another reason to be mad at her brother-in-law Jay Z: He nabbed four BET Award nominations and she has a big fat zero.

Hova and Beyoncé rang up four nominations each, including Video of the Year and Best Collaboration for “Drunk in Love” as a duo. Beyoncé was also nominated for Best Female R&B/Pop Artist and again for Video of the Year for her hit “Partition.” Jay-Z got a second nod for Best Collaboration for his Justin Timberlake project “Holy Grail,” and another for Best Male Hip Hop Artist.

“This year’s nominees represent the best of the culture,” said Stephen Hill, BET’s President of Music Programming and Specials in a press release. “It’s great to see our talented new artist’s right alongside our more beloved ones with long careers. We appreciate our BET Awards nomination committee, over 300 strong, for their efforts and congratulate all the nominees.”
