The hunt is over: Casey Kasem has been found

Casey Kasem gave his family a scare when he went missing from Los Angeles, California, but authorities have now found the radio icon in Washington state.

Casey Kasem caused a media frenzy when he disappeared from a nursing home in Los Angeles, California, but the hunt is now over because the radio icon has been spotted in Washington state.

Kasem’s wife allegedly removed him from Los Angeles without telling his children, who had temporarily filed for conservatorship after their stepmother disregarded the rules of the agreement they previously had.

The 82-year-old star’s daughter Kerri was distraught when he went missing and filed a missing person’s report with the police in Santa Monica, California. But now she can rest easy once again because he was found on Wednesday night, according to police.

According to CNN, sheriff’s deputies in Kitsap County, Washington, found Kasem and his wife visiting people at an address that was provided by California Adult Protective Services. The radio icon then revealed to authorities that he and his wife were on vacation. After determining that Kasem was not in distress and cognizant of his location, the authorities left.

“If they found him, I want to know if he’s all right,” Kerri told the New York Daily News after hearing that her dad had been located. “I am praying,” she added.

And even though Kasem’s children are relieved he has been located, they still have a lot of unanswered questions about the former American Top 40 show host’s health.

“We are grateful to the local authorities for finding my Dad. We are one step closer to bringing him home,” Kerri said in a statement on Wednesday night.

However, according to the statement, the family still have “grave concerns about his medical care.”

“The Kasem family will do everything in their power to bring their father home,” Danny Deraney added.

The grave concerns for Kasem’s health are justified because according to a family spokesman he is suffering from Lewy body disease — a common cause of dementia, CNN reports.
