Heidi Klum isn’t just a pretty face, she’s also kind & charitable

Heidi Klum is a hardworking celebrity mom of four, and despite her intense work schedule, she still devotes her time to the American Red Cross and helps those who are less fortunate.

Heidi Klum has proven to the world that she’s not only one of the most beautiful people on the outside; she’s just as beautiful on the inside.

The German beauty has been actively involved in charity work for the American Red Cross over the years, and on Saturday night she was honored with the Crystal Cross Award at the awards gala held in the French Embassy in Washington, D.C.

Klum revealed to People magazine that she tries to give back to others, and she realizes how fortunate she has been in her own life.

“I try to get a lot of goodies from the people I work with,” the 40-year-old star revealed to the magazine. “I realize how fortunate I am. When you go out into these desperate situations, when you sit at a hospital with sick children of course it changes you. We are used to seeing horrifying catastrophes on television, but when you are about to go and be there and see the sadness on people’s faces and the things they just lost, it makes a huge difference.”

And Klum is a firm believer that we can all play a small part in helping to better our own communities. So how do we get involved?

“I think everyone can do something, even if it is in your own community. You can visit children in the hospital or bring gifts to them, cook a meal for someone who is ill and can’t. We are all global citizens and whatever we can do, if it is small or something bigger, it’s important,” Klum said.

With such a big heart, a mom to four children and an incredibly busy work schedule, Klum has still found time to make her new relationship with Vito Schnabel work — and it appears Klum is totally smitten with her 27-year-old art dealer.

When People asked her how she makes her relationship work, she confessed, “I look at people with my heart. I look for their kindness and humor and compassion.”

So, perhaps husband No. 3 will be on the way shortly?
