Mick Jagger isn’t just a grandfather, he’s a great-grandfather

It’s hard to believe Mick Jagger is somebody’s great-grandfather, especially since he still tours with the Rolling Stones at the age of 70.

He still rocks out onstage with the Rolling Stones, but Mick Jagger is now a great-grandfather. It’s kind of hard to imagine the lithe front man even as a grandfather, so the news is a bit shocking.

His 21-year-old granddaughter, Assisi Jagger, gave birth to a baby girl, according to Hello! magazine.

The new mother put it all into perspective for her granddad. She told the British publication during her pregnancy, “I imagine it’s nice to be a great-granddad, although I’m not sure he likes the idea of getting old, or being called one. I call him Mick. I wouldn’t start calling him grandpa.”

Here’s where the story really gets interesting, because Assisi is the daughter of Mick’s only child with ex-wife Bianca Jagger, Jade, 42. Jade herself is expecting a baby boy next month even though Assisi just made her a grandmother.

Jade had her daughter at the age of 20 with her former partner, artist Piers Jackson.

Assisi talked about how young motherhood runs in the Jagger family. She shared, “The women in our family just tend to have children young, it runs in the genes.”

The happy news comes after a tragic period in Mick’s life: He lost his girlfriend L’Wren Scott to suicide just two months ago.

Assisi and her boyfriend, chef Alex Key, have yet to announce their little girl’s name.

Congratulations, great-grandpa Mick!
