Drake Bell laments the irresponsibility of Justin Bieber‘s behavior when it comes to fans and wants to know where all the young Beliebers’ parents are hiding.
Drake Bell and Justin Bieber have been less than friendly for almost two years now, and Bell is talking about the situation as well as naming what he believes to be the root cause of the feud.

“I was scrolling through my Twitter feed one day and somebody had tweeted me a picture of Justin Bieber that had been photoshopped with makeup or something and I thought it was funny, so I hit retweet. I just retweeted a tweet and all of a sudden the remarks are coming in,” Bell recently told Yahoo Music. “My fans are all pretty cool, you know. I’ve never really seen anybody fighting on Twitter. No death threats, no harsh language, no gay slurs, nothing like that. But when I hit retweet on this tweet, the floodgates were open: death threats, slurs.”
Bell is most likely referencing the barrage of scary tweets he received from Bieber’s fans back in 2012 when the feud began. While Beliebers may have believed they were, in fact, defending their idol, many felt that tweets telling Bell to “shoot yourself” and “go die” were a bit overboard. “I haven’t listened to much Justin Bieber, but his songs must be full of hate and rage because that’s what his believers are filled with,” Bell said at the time.
Bell is saying now that he actually started retweeting the horrific comments not to incite more hate, but to try to impart some wisdom. “I’m assuming they’re all his fans, so they’ve gotta be what? Twelve years old? Ten years old? So it’s like, ‘My God, where are your parents?'” he said to Yahoo Music. ” So I started retweeting some of the ones that were really harsh and saying, ‘Hey guys, this is not how we should talk.'”
Belieber behavior and parental neglect aside, Bell says what really makes him angry is the lack of response from Bieber himself about the violent language used by his fans. The Drake & Josh star believes it’s Bieber’s responsibility to be a role model and speak up when his fans are in the wrong, or even in danger, referencing the point in time that Beliebers were thought to be cutting themselves to get the “Baby” singer’s attention. “I’m like, man, silence. Silence. Wouldn’t you come out and be like, ‘Hey guys, I made a mistake, but this is not how to handle it?’ But he’s very irresponsible, in my opinion, as far as his fans go.”
Bell says he separates himself from Bieber by focusing on his craft, avoiding the party scene and staying positive.
“You know, we didn’t get into this business to be role models. We got into it to express ourselves artistically,” Bell said. “But it comes with the territory.”
