The 40-year-old woman was found shot dead at around 8:30 p.m. in her South Los Angeles, California, home on Brynhurst Avenue on Monday, according to the Los Angeles Times. And it is believed her actor husband Michael Jace had something to do with her slaying.

The Shield star was taken into police custody and has now been booked with the fatal shooting of his wife, the Los Angeles Times reports.

In a twisted turn of events, Michael Jace, who is widely known on the FX police drama for his role as Detective Julien Lowe — as well as other roles in law enforcement, including CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and NYPD Blue — now finds himself on the other side of the law.

Jace was detained for questioning on Monday evening and was later charged with homicide on Tuesday morning. According to TMZ, law enforcement sources revealed that the actor called 911 and said, “I shot my wife.” It is believed he then stayed on the phone as instructed until the LAPD arrived on the scene.

According to TMZ, law enforcement officials revealed that the couple’s two children, both under age 10, were at home during the time of the incident and were taken into police custody. They are believed to have, unfortunately, witnessed the shooting of their mother.
