Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar have 19 kids (and a growing number of grandkids), but it’s not enough for them. They have decided to consult a fertility doctor to see if they can have more children.
Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar have 19 kids, but they are hoping they can have (at least) one more. The couple visited a fertility clinic to see whether it will be safe to try to get pregnant one more time.

“We would love more children if God saw fit to give us more. I just want to make sure that I am ready to catch a baby if that would happen,” Michelle Duggar told NBC News.
The Duggars visited Dr. Paul Wendel, a gynecologist who specializes in high-risk pregnancies, to see if there is any possibility Michelle can get pregnant again.
The couple’s youngest daughter, Josie, is now 4 years old, but was born three and a half months premature and struggled with life-threatening problems. In 2011, Michelle became pregnant again, but suffered a miscarriage at 19 weeks.
Michelle Duggar is 47 years old, but Dr. Wendel said it’s not impossible for her to have another healthy pregnancy.
“We do see occasionally pregnancies in women who are 47, 48, 49, even 50, but they are very unusual,” he said.
Michelle Duggar has spoken about her hope for more children, but also seems to understand it may not happen for her again.
“If I am in that season of life where we’re not able to have any more, then I’m fine, I’m happy with that,” she said in a clip for their show on TLC. “But if there are things physically I need to know, that I need to do health-wise just to be ready to catch a baby if God saw fit to give us one.”
