Molly Ringwald and Juliette Lewis have been cast in the film adaptation of Jem and the Holograms… but which characters will they play?
Jem and the Holograms was a massively popular ’80s animated television series, and now we get a second chance to watch the classic Hasbro cartoon because it’s being made into a film adaptation by G.I. Joe: Retaliation director Jon M. Chu.

The reality of Jem and the Holograms is sinking in, thanks to the news that Oscar-nominated star Juliette Lewis is being cast in the film, according to Deadline. And according to The Hollywood Reporter, Molly Ringwald is also joining the cast. Woo-hoo!
However, neither actress’ characters have been revealed as yet, so it’s got everyone wondering which roles these two Hollywood beauties will take on.
Filming has already started in Los Angeles, California — although a release date has not been confirmed — and according to MTV, Nashville‘s Aubrey Peeples will play the role of the main character Jem while Aurora Perrineau, Hayley Kiyoko and Stefanie Scott have also been confirmed in title roles. What does that mean? Well, it means Jem and the characters for her band the Holograms have all been swooped up.

Lewis has a musical background and has even fronted the band Juliette and the Licks, and MTV thinks she should be cast as Misfits leader Pizzazz while Metro thinks she should be Synergy — it’s really anyone’s guess right now!
Ringwald, on the other hand, was the ’80s poster child and icon, thanks to her roles in movies such as Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club and Pretty in Pink, and we think she could easily hold down the role of Pizzazz, too. Or Synergy or even Countess Danielle Du Voisin?
