Gwyneth Paltrow stepped in it yet again with an insensitive comment about how hard her life is.
Gwyneth Paltrow continues to consciously uncouple from positive public opinion by saying thoughtless and insensitive things — this time by comparing the lives of herself and other Hollywood A-listers to that of a soldier in a bloody war.
The Iron Man 3 star was discussing internet bullying of celebrities at the Re/Code’s Code Conference when she made the ridiculous analogy.
“You come across them about yourself and about your friends, and it’s a very dehumanizing thing. It’s almost like how, in war, you go through this bloody, dehumanizing thing, and then something is defined out of it. My hope is, as we get out of it, we’ll reach the next level of conscience,” she said.

“It’s taken me a long time to get to the point where I can see these things and not take it as a personal affront and a hurt. I see myself as a chalkboard or a whiteboard or a screen, and someone is just putting up their own projection on it,” Paltrow added. “It has nothing to do with me. They have an internal object, and they’re putting it on me. I kind of look at it as, ‘Wow this is an interesting social experiment.’ You’re talking about a blind stranger having feelings about you. It can only be projection.
“We’re in this very adolescent phase. It’s dangerous, [because] we lack the capacity to say, ‘Why does this matter to me, and who am I in this?’ ‘Why am I having opinions about Angelina Jolie’s operation?’ ‘What is unhealed in me?’ ‘Why am I using the internet to do this?'”
One person who took great exception to Paltrow’s ill-thought comparison is Cindy McCain, wife of senator and former POW John McCain and mother of two sons who happen to be actual soldiers. She expressed her disbelief over Paltrow’s insensitivity on Twitter.
Gweneth Paltrow is a joke. Her life is like taking bullets for a soldier. What a joke! My 2 sons serving in the military should talk to her.

Green Beret Bryan Sikes wrote a scathing response to Paltrow for Girls Just Wanna Have Guns, saying sarcastically, “You should receive a medal for the burden you have carried on your shoulders due to these meanies on social media.
“You know what is really ‘dehumanizing,’ Miss Paltrow? The fact that you’d even consider that your life as an ‘A-list’ celebrity reading internet comments could even compare to war and what is endured on the battlefield. You and the other ‘A-listers’ that think like you are laughable.”
