Brad Pitt was attacked on the red carpet last night, but he’s not going to take it lying down.

Oh, hush! Angelina Jolie says celeb moms shouldn’t complain >>

According to the AFP via Yahoo! News, Pitt was granted a five-day restraining order by police against Vitalii Sediuk, who either slapped or punched the sunglasses off the actor’s face last night in Los Angeles. The actor will have to go to court if he wants the restraining order to last longer than the five-day period.

Pitt was attending the premiere of Maleficent, which stars his partner, Angelina Jolie, with Jolie and their 5-year-old daughter, Vivienne, when he was attacked by the 25-year-old Ukrainian journalist. “At around 7:30 p.m., Brad Pitt was at the El Capitan Theater on the red carpet when a male jumped over the barricade and made contact with him,” according to the LAPD via the Hollywood Reporter. Throughout the incident, both Jolie and Pitt remained calm and composed.

Sediuk is being held on suspicion of misdemeanor battery and his bail is set at $20,000, according to Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson, Sally Madera.

Sediuk is becoming infamous for his red carpet hijinks. His pranks started out innocent enough: He rushed the stage at the Grammys last year while Adele was receiving her award, and he got up close and personal with Bradley Cooper’s man parts at the SAG Awards this year. However, his pranks seem to be getting progressively more malicious. About two weeks ago, actress America Ferrera was visibly shaken and upset when Sediuk rushed her on a red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival. Sediuk was able to lay on the ground and put his head under the Ugly Betty star’s gown. Ferrera and the rest of the cast of How to Train Your Dragon 2 were not amused with Sediuk, and the violent assault on Pitt is certainly nothing to laugh at either.

At the time of the Ferrera attack, word on the street was Sediuk was still an officially-credentialed member of the press, which explains how he was able to get past security.
