Beloved showbiz veteran Ann B. Davis, who played the live-in housekeeper Alice on The Brady Bunch, has died at age 88 after a tragic fall in her bathroom on Saturday.

The beloved star hit her head during a tragic fall in her bathroom on Saturday and was found unconscious the next morning after alarm had been raised when she missed her weekly hair appointment. Unfortunately, Davis died later that day.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Davis’ agent Malcolm said, “She was very sweet. I represent a lot of well-known people, and few have been so content with their lot. She enjoyed what she did in life. She just had a birthday [May 3] and was in fine health. It’s sad she had to die this way.”
Davis was best known for her role as housekeeper Alice Nelson on the popular ABC series The Brady Bunch as well as spin-offs from the show, including A Very Brady Christmas and The Brady BunchMovie. However, she also starred in several other TV roles, including her portrayal of the hilarious secretary Schultzy on The Bob Cummings Show, which led her to win two Emmy Awards in 1958 and 1959.

While Davis and her cast on The Brady Bunch got on very well, and she found love on-screen, in her real life she confessed to People in 1992, “I basically don’t do that well with children.” In fact, the 88-year-old actress never married nor had children of her own, and she is survived by her twin sister who lives in Arizona.
The Daily Mail reports that Davis’ funeral is “in the process” of being arranged by friends from her church, and our thoughts are with the actress’ family and friends during this sad time.
