Kanye West‘s sweet surprise reminded Kim Kardashian of her late father as she walked down the aisle.
It’s obvious that Kim Kardashian and Kanye West‘s wedding was an extravagant affair, but there’s one detail in particular that sent Kardashian over the moon.

The newlywed gushed to E! News earlier this week about the epic surprise her new husband sprang on her just as she finished her walk down the aisle: Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli.
“I thought I was walking down the aisle to his CD,” said the reality TV star. “But when I got to the altar, I did a double take and screamed! I couldn’t believe he was there himself!”
According to the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star, West’s choice to have Bocelli involved in their wedding brought very special meaning to the ceremony. “My favorite singer is Andrea Bocelli, and Kanye surprised me. My dad loved him too,” she said.
Kardashian’s father, Robert Kardashian, died of esophageal cancer back in 2003, just eight weeks after receiving his diagnosis. In the past, Kim has expressed her sadness about the fact that her father is no longer around to experience family events. “When I look at (sister Kourtney’s son) Mason, he’s so much like my dad. He gives these facial expressions sometimes that look just like my dad,” she said to People in 2011. “That’s really hard… that he’ll never get to meet my husband or my children,” she added.
“I felt like I was walking down the aisle with my dad as (Andrea) sang,” the new Mrs. West told E! of her recent wedding experience.
Another surprise at the Kimye wedding? Jaden Smith’s attire. Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith’s son donned a white Batman costume to the event, according to Girls Gone Wild founder and wedding guest Joe Francis. Jaden, who is rumored to be dating Kardashian’s younger sister Kylie Jenner, apparently spent the majority of the reception making out with Jenner and photobombing other guests.
