Calvin Harris ended speculation and confirmed that he and Rita Ora split up “some time ago.”
Reports that Calvin Harris and Rita Ora split surfaced earlier this year, but they were simply speculation. All the murmuring came to an end on Friday, when the super-producer confirmed that he and the pop starlet are no longer an item.
Taking to his Twitter account, Harris specified that he and Ora actually ended things “some time ago,” but made sure to show his former flame lots of love. No word from Ora on the breakup.

Shortly after Harris’s announcement, TMZ reported that things may not have ended so amicably. According to the outlet, pop’s bad boy Justin Bieber was the reason the two are now dunzo. During recording sessions, the Biebster and Ora apparently got “touchy-feely,” and word of their affectionate behavior made its way back to Harris.

In addition to their personal relationship, Harris and Ora also had a professional working relationship. Her single “I Will Never Let You Down,” which hit No. 1 on the U.K. singles chart, was actually produced by the EDM mastermind. But we probably won’t be hearing any more sweet music from these two. TMZ reports that Harris already had Ora’s belongings removed from his Los Angeles house and won’t allow the release of the songs that they worked on together.
Harris and Ora’s breakup was first reported back in January. However, TMZ’s recent report contradicts that initial story, which cited a hectic work schedule as the reason for their breakup. “It’s been tough for both of them, but it’s been even harder for them to spend time together recently,” a source close to The Sun explained. “He’s busy DJing and she’s working on her new album and shooting Fifty Shades of Grey.”
