She can officially wipe away the title of bachelorette. Reality star Emily Maynard married in a surprise wedding on Saturday night.
An unexpected June bride! Emily Maynard, who starred on Season 8 of The Bachelorette, is officially a Mrs. The North Carolina-based reality star married Tyler Johnson, an automotive management consultant, on Saturday night in Sharon, South Carolina.
People magazine had the exclusive details on the secret wedding. The couple invited 200 guests to an engagement party that turned out to be their surprise wedding. The bride kept it casual, pairing cowboy boots with her Modern Trousseau gown. Her eight-year-old daughter, Ricki, served as her maid of honor.

Maynard told the entertainment magazine why she chose her daughter to play such an important role.
She said, “It’s just as much her day as it is mine because it’s a big change for her. She just adores Tyler, and he is so good with her. He loves her as if she was his own daughter. It’s been so great to see their relationship grow.”
Ricki’s father is NASCAR driver Ricky Hendrick, who died in a plane crash in 2004, just before his fiancée Maynard found out she was pregnant.
The newlyweds are planning on residing in Charlotte after their honeymoon. The bride had no idea where they were going on vacation.
She shared, “Tyler planned it. He told me we’re going to a beach. We could totally be going to Myrtle Beach for all I know!”

Maynard is also changing her last name to Johnson, so there are lots of big moments in their lives this month. The 28-year-old TV personality is also looking to put her reality show past behind her.
“For so long, I felt so embarrassed and ashamed about that TV stuff,” said the former ABC star, who was engaged to Bachelor star Brad Womack and then was proposed to by Jef Holm on her season of The Bachelorette.
She gushed about her new husband, “God brought us together. He’s given me such peace about everything. I’m so grateful I met him.”
