The 2014 Tony Awards show was a night to remember filled with everything from performances in drag, lap dances, rap renditions and divas.
The 68th annual Tony Awards, this Sunday, was a night to remember as Broadway’s best gathered at Radio City Music Hall in New York City, New York. In fact, it was the 2014 Tonys host Hugh Jackman who made the evening so memorable.

Jackman showed the world just how funny and charismatic he can be as he entertained the crowd with several spectacular performances. During his opening monologue, he decided to make fun of himself, saying, “Tonight is a celebration of Broadway, the only place you can see Rocky in a boxing ring, Bryan Cranston in the Oval Office and Wolverine in tap shoes.”
Jackman’s opening number set the mood for the show as he paid homage to the 1953 film Small Town Girl by bouncing around backstage and throughout the theater before finally meeting up with Neil Patrick Harris in an elevator — which we were convinced would be a repeat of the Jay Z/Solange Knowles elevator brawl. However, there was no elevator brawl repeat, and the host instead impressed the audience with his dancing and singing talents.

We were unaware that rapping ability is among the many talents Jackman has. The 45-year-old star wowed the audience with his version of “Rock Island” from The Music Man alongside LL Cool J and T.I.

Aside from Jackman’s antics, Harris also delivered one of the most exciting performances of the night when he performed “Sugar Daddy” from the Broadway play Hedwig and the AngryInch alongside his co-star Lena Hall.

He proved why he deserved to win a Tony Award — which he took home later in the night — as he roamed around the audience and proceeded to lick Samuel L. Jackson’s glasses and give a lap dance to Sting. It was a truly entertaining performance!

Do not think for a second, though, that it was just the men who stole the show on Sunday night. The divas from After Midnight, Fantasia Barrino, Gladys Knight and Patti LaBelle, teamed up for an upbeat performance of “On the Sunny Side of the Street.”
