Jessica Simpson’s bachelorette: No strippers, lots of booze

Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson celebrated their impending nuptials with a coed bachelor/bachelorette party.

It’s finally happening: After a three-and-a-half-year engagement and two children together, Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson are finally pulling it together to tie the knot, and the lead-up festivities to their big day have begun.

The couple, along with about 40 of their closest friends and family, threw a combined, coed bachelor and bachelorette party Sunday night at Warwick in Los Angeles. While the party was hopping, there was one thing missing: strippers.

“It wasn’t about being naughty,” a friend of Simpson’s told People. “They just wanted a great night out with their friends and family.”

Simpson’s longtime friend and bridesmaid Stephanie Terblanche added, “They didn’t want a traditional bachelor-bachelorette where they go off and do their own thing, because our group of friends is so close we just wanted to all be together.

“This is what we would do anyway. We would all go out, and I think that this speaks for the group. If we are not going to be at someone’s house hanging out playing beer pong, this is the closest thing to it,” said Terblanche.

“There were fun toasts at dinner and dancing!” the first friend continued, saying Simpson and Johnson “were just excited to have some fun and celebrate with the people they love.”

It must have been a heck of a party: Paparazzi caught Simpson having to be practically carried to the car by her loving baby daddy as she attempted to slur a response to a photographer’s questions. But her driver saved the day and delivered a big bag of delicious In-N-Out burgers, so all was not lost.

Simpson and Johnson are reportedly due to tie the knot during the upcoming Fourth of July weekend in Santa Barbara, California.
