The 22-year-old actress starred with Clooney in the 2011 film The Descendants, and she has only good things to say about her former co-star.
“He has been an angel in my life for many reasons,” Woodley told Vanity Fair for its July 2014 issue. “He knew everyone’s name on set. He treated everyone as an equal and everyone got his warmth.”
While Clooney is clearly Woodley’s mentor, how does he feel about the young actress?
“Shailene can do whatever she wants. If she wants to be a movie star, she has it,” Clooney told the magazine. “If she wants to change the world, she will. Her talent and kindness go hand in hand. We’ll be talking about Shailene Woodley 40 years from now. I’ve never seen anyone so young that has so much together.”

That’s high praise from the The Monuments Men star, who is not the only actor who has displayed warmth in his dealings with others. Woodley also has her head screwed on straight, and she has proved more than once that she is a deep thinker who cares about the world around her.
“As much as this industry is a platform for talking about big issues, there’s also so many f****n’ issues,” she said. “Maybe the only thing that I’m supposed to do is just show up and be me in every moment. Because I do feel like one of my gifts is to be open and lovely — simple things like smiling at strangers and having kind, small interactions. I think that is what’s going to ultimately shift things.”
And it’s not just Clooney that the Divergent actress is filled with praise for. She also gushed to the magazine about another co-star, Miles Teller.

“I look at Miles and, like, I’m sort of Julia Roberts in the same way she is to George. Their relationship I could see being our relationship in 20 years, and that really is special,” the actress confessed.
