Lauren Conrad was supposed to be celebrating her bachelorette party with her close friends, but the lighthearted party turned into a stand for equality.
Longtime fans of The Hills and Laguna Beach know that where Lauren Conrad and pals go, drama typically follows — and the star’s bachelorette party was no exception.
Conrad, who has left behind reality TV for her own fashion lines, was living it up in the Mexican beach resort town of Cabo San Lucas when she was slapped with a rude awakening: Not all of her friends were welcome in their chosen party venue.
What started out as a beautiful day ended badly when Conrad discovered the venue would not allow her gay friends to participate in the festivities. Rather than sit there and take it, the bride-to-be, along with guests Lo Bosworth, former roommate Jilli Hendrix, Little Market co-founder Hannah Skvarla and others promptly left and put The Office on the Beach restaurant on blast for its anti-gay policies.
