Her gown, designed by Carmen Marc Valvo, had ivory beading and embroidered Chantilly lace. Couric wore her hair up, with a white flower accessorizing her look. To prove she wasn’t a bridezilla, the TV personality decided on a dress only one week before the nuptials.
Is Katie Couric returning to the Today show? >>
The former Today Show journalist told People she had a little help picking out her dress.
She said, “I hope this isn’t bad luck, but I actually tried it on for him. I tried on a number of dresses, and I was so busy. I had a crazy spring.”
The couple, who got engaged in September, kept the wedding small with approximately 50 guests and their children from previous marriages, adding some “traditional touches” to their backyard wedding. Molner’s kids, Allie and Henry, and Couric’s daughters, Ellie and Carrie, performed readings. Carrie also sang for the couple.

Her 51-year-old husband even helped plan the wedding.
Couric joked, “I call John ‘Groomzilla!’ We’re a very modern couple.”
However, there was one thing the New York couple wanted, and they got their wish.
She shared, “We wanted to keep the wedding just very low-key. This is not my first rodeo so I didn’t want to go too crazy, and neither did John.”
Congratulations, Katie and John!
