Schilling opened up to Allure magazine’s July 2014 issue about her role as an inmate and how liberating it has been.
“It’s totally liberating,” she said about her character in the show. “There’s freedom in not having to make it about how my jeans fit or what my boobs look like in a top. All I have to do now is play.”
However, not having to worry about her appearance on-screen doesn’t necessarily mean the actress worries about her appearance in her day-to-day life either.

“I don’t feel bound by my face or my body. I don’t feel like that’s the biggest gift I have to offer the world. I feel like there are more parts of me to offer than that,” the beauty confessed.
Although Schilling appears to be comfortable in her own skin now, she told the magazine she wasn’t always as confident while growing up.
“It was tough at home, and it was tough at school,” Schilling said of feeling ugly. “My experience was painful, so painful. There was a period of time I had very short hair, and I had glasses, and I was very tall for my age.”
One thing is certain: Schilling looks gorgeous in her shoot for Allure magazine, which hits newsstands on June 30.
