Miss Delaware was stripped of her crown because officials say she’s too old. Plus, the 24-year-old also got her scholarship money taken away.
Miss Delaware 2014 Amanda Longacre no longer holds the title after officials took away her crown and scholarship money due to her age.
Apparently, 24-year-old Longacre is too old to compete at the Miss America pageant in September and got her current Miss Delaware crown taken away along with the $11,000 scholarship she won as part of her title.

After officials reviewed her paperwork recently, they determined Longacre would age out since she was turning 25 shortly after the Miss America pageant and she would not be able to compete for the title. So, they took away her Miss Delaware crown just two weeks after she won it.
“Following the Miss Delaware Pageant, it was determined that Amanda Longacre exceeded the age requirement in order to be eligible to compete,” pageant officials said in a statement to USA Today.

After runner-up Brittany Lewis was crowned the replacement winner on Thursday, Longacre was left stunned.
“I was told I could compete by people who have been doing this for 30 years,” the beauty contestant said. “I did everything right and it was all in front of them.”
Not only that, but Longacre’s name and profile were removed from the pageant’s Facebook page once the new winner was announced. Plus, no one at the Miss America headquarters is getting back to her after being notified of her title strip in Delaware.
