“Unfortunately there’s a genetic component to addiction,” Robert Downey Jr. said in a statement released via TMZ, “Indio has likely inherited it. Also, there is a lot of family support and understanding, and we’re all determined to rally behind him and help him become the man he’s capable of being. We’re grateful to the Sheriff’s department for their intervention, and believe Indio can be another recovery success story instead of a cautionary tale.”
Indio’s car was pulled over in the West Hollywood area after a police officer drove up next to the car and noticed a passenger — reportedly Indio — smoking something out of a pipe, according to TMZ.

Indio was booked on possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to Sheriff’s Sergeant Dave Valentine.

This isn’t the first time Indio has struggled with drugs. Back in the fall of 2013, he underwent drug treatment for taking prescription pain medication.
