Mark Wahlberg seems to always know exactly how to beat the bad guys in movies, but fatherhood is proving to be a bit more puzzling for the star. The Transformers hunk, who is raising four children with wife, Rhea Durham, admits he turns to prayer when his patience wears thin.
“I want to give them all the things I never had but make sure they understand it’s not normal and that it takes hard work to get what you want[.] You have to provide them with the tools that will make them good people,” the father of Ella, 10, Michael, 8, Brendan, 5, and Grace, 4, explained.

“I pray for patience. But the kids test me,” the man who lost 60 pounds on a miserable diet said of having so many little ones in the house. However, that doesn’t mean he’s in a big hurry for his brood to grow up.
“The boys will be difficult in some ways that the girls won’t, but I’m dreading the teenage years with my daughters; it’s not going to be easy for them to go on a date,” Wahlberg shared. “But I’m hoping one nice, nerdy boy will come into each of their lives at the right time when they’re 20-something and they’ll be with that person forever.”

As for their future careers, the man who took nearly all of his gang to a premiere in late June went on to say, “I’m extremely nervous about it and want to push them in any other direction, but Ella already says things like, ‘I want your job!’
“As long as the kids know they need to get a college education first, and after I teach them all the pros and cons of the business if it’s something they still want to do, I’ll support them 110 percent.”
