Using her experience on the soap, Days of Our Lives, Sweeney‘s novel follows the story of script supervisor Maddy Carson, who is down to earth and hates “Hollywood”. Single and open to mingling, Maddy has one rule: no dating actors. Which just might be a problem when gorgeous star, Adam Devin, sets his sights on her.
This novel is a follow-up to Sweeney’s previous book, The Star Attraction.
If you enjoy a good beach read, you’ll fall in love with Sweeney’s latest novel. Plus, with her experience working as an actress, Sweeney knows what she’s talking about. Soap opera fans will be pleasantly surprised with some Easter eggs that pop up throughout the novel, as well.

In fact, the book was inspired by a lot of things Sweeney experienced in real life on Days of Our Lives. She just left the show after playing Sami Brady for more than two decades.
“It was my decision,” Sweeney told Fox News of her exit from the show. “In fact, they asked what they could do to keep me. I said, ‘I just need to do new things and challenge myself in different ways.’ I loved playing Sami for 21 years. It was an amazing experience, but I really wanted to stretch out in different ways like writing and seeing what other roles are out there and being at home more, taking my kids to school.”
Aside from writing books and appearing in soaps, Sweeney is the host of the reality weight loss competition show, The Biggest Loser.
