The “Hey Jude” hit maker was in the middle of his concert when he called a man, John Dann, to come up onstage with him and propose to his girlfriend, Claudia Rogers. The legendary musician spotted the loved-up pair in the audience as they held up two neon yellow signs.

The woman’s sign read, “He won’t marry me ’til he meets you.” And her beau’s sign said, “I have the ring and I’m 64.”

McCartney was clearly touched by the lovers and decided to invite them to join him at the Times Union Center, with a crowd of more than 13,000 people watching, Us Weekly reports. And luckily for Rogers, her man stuck to his word and went through with the proposal, thanks to McCartney’s help.

The singer sang the song “When I’m Sixty-Four,” which includes the lines, “Will you still need me, will you still feed me / When I’m sixty-four?”
