With the 2014 Emmy nominations announcement this morning, we couldn’t help but notice a few contenders were noticeably absent from the list.
Game of Thrones leads the pack with 19 nominations. Fargo scored right behind that with 18. And True Detective nabbed 12. While no one denies these shows deserve their honors, there definitely were some surprises that, much to fans’ disappointment, didn’t quite make the list this year.

1. Tatiana Maslany
How many different characters does this girl need to play on Orphan Black before she nabs a nomination? We’re not the only ones asking that question. It’s the running sentiment this morning on Twitter.
#EmmyNoms you left out an actress that plays more then one charater. She plays like .9 different clones. pic.twitter.com/2ZHntOxMKU

2. Orphan Black
The show as a whole should also be applauded for its story line and development throughout the season. While fans might be objecting to the exclusion, the BBC show has a surprisingly positive outlook.

2. Brooklyn Nine-Nine
Uh, how is it that a show can win Best Comedy at the Golden Globes and not even get an Emmy nomination in the Outstanding Comedy Series category? The Emmy voters did give a nom to Andre Braugher in the Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series. Otherwise, the show was forgotten.

3. The Good Wife
Aside from the fact that CBS put out an aggressive campaign on the show’s behalf, The Good Wife had one of the juiciest twists in its latest season. None of that seemed to be enough to get the show Outstanding Drama Series recognition. On the upside, Julianna Margulies was nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series. The show received two other nominations as well.

4. The Walking Dead
A lot of fans agree that the latest season of The Walking Dead isn’t getting the recognition it deserves considering the depth of the plotlines this year on the show. Sure, it got some Critics’ Choice and Golden Globes love, but fans expected better.
Really can't believe that The Walking dead wasn't nominated for an Emmy. Do people not see that this show isn't just about zombies?#EmmyNoms

5. Mindy Kaling
Mindy Kaling may have been on hand to announce the nominees this morning, but there was one name she noticeably didn’t call: hers. Despite public love for Kaling and her show The Mindy Project, Kaling was left off the list. No morning parties to celebrate for this lady.

6. The Blacklist
The Blacklist didn’t get an ounce of love this year. As Deadline notes, the series at least deserves some credit for saving NBC if nothing else.
Ummmm There has to be a bunch of @TheEmmys nominations for @NBCBlacklist stuck in a box somewhere.
