A statement issued by the Inyo County Sheriff’s Department said Legeno’s remains were found by hikers “in a remote wash” near Zabriskie Point in Death Valley. The sheriff said that it appeared Legeno died of “heat-related issues” — and the location was so remote, the sheriff’s department had to have his body removed by helicopter. The actor was 50 years old.
Legeno may be best known to wizarding fans as Fenrir Greyback in the last three Harry Potter films, but he began his career in showbiz as a mixed martial arts fighter. Legeno started that career at the age of 42 and became known as The Enforcer.
In the three Harry Potter films he appeared in, Greyback was a “Voldemort-following werewolf,” according to Yahoo, and was defeated by Ron Weasley and Neville Longbottom in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2. Legeno has also appeared in Snatch, Batman Begins, Elizabeth: The Golden Age and Snow White and the Huntsman.
