BFFs America Ferrera and Amber Tamblyn are super close

Even in Hollywood, lifelong friendships can be formed, and America Ferrera and Amber Tamblyn are living proof of that. The pair starred together in the friendship film The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants almost a decade ago, and while they were on-screen besties at the time, they have remained off-screen ones, too.

The cast of The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, which included Ferrera, Tamblyn, Blake Lively and Alexis Bledel, all reunited on Saturday to support their former co-star and Ugly Betty alum’s new film X/Y at a screening in Los Angeles, California.

The 2014 drama film is directed by Ferrera’s husband, Ryan Piers Williams, and it also stars Tamblyn, who confessed to Us Weekly that part of the appeal about being cast in the film was her good friend Ferrera.

Tamblyn went on to describe her friendship with Ferrera, saying, “She was one of three people to speak at my wedding. She’s one of my best friends.” The star also told the mag that the pair also go on double dates “all the time — to an irritating point. I’m not sure who I’m closer with.”

“Usually America and I going out first, eating and catching up and talking about extensionalism (sic) and philosophy, and where we are in our lives. And that usually lasts about 2 hours,” Tamblyn confessed. “And then the dudes join up and they have been and then we talk about sports for 10 minutes. And then America and I go back to being in love with each other. They go off and do their own thing.”

And the 2005 film based on the novel by Ann Brashares hasn’t just created a lifelong friendship between Ferrera and Tamblyn. They’re also super close to Lively, whose great style choices even led her to become an influential figure in deciding what Tamblyn would wear as her wedding dress.
