Calm down, DWTS pro Cheryl Burke hasn’t had any surgery

Seriously? It’s time to cut Cheryl Burke some slack, because she must be growing tired of everyone criticizing her body.

Just days after being criticized by fans for becoming too skinny, theDancing With the Stars pro has come under fire again, and this time she’s been hit with plastic surgery speculation. A few years ago, she put on some weight and was fat-shamed, and now that she’s shed the weight and is sporting a much skinnier frame, she’s been criticized for being too skinny… and for having pronounced lips.

The 30-year-old dancer has already revealed how she lost her weight (by eating well and increasing her exercise) and now she’s also setting the record straight on the plastic surgery speculation.

“I’ve seriously had no plastic surgery,” she told Access Hollywood co-host, Kit Hoover, on Wednesday, July 16. “I used to get bullied as a kid for having big ears and big lips and they would call me monkey face. So I’ve always had the big lips.”

Poor Burke! She’s had to defend herself after fans criticized her appearance on July 7, when she posted a picture of herself in a bikini while on holiday in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

“An innocent picture of me posting a selfie like this, and naturally my collarbones are going to come out and people just went crazy,” she continued.

And some fans have been getting seriously nasty.

“People are saying ‘What have you done to your face?’, ‘You look disgusting, you look like you’re dying,'” she revealed of the comments on her photo. “I was surprised that no one really stuck up for me either. It really just messes with your head honestly. It’s just amazing to me to see that people can be so cruel.”

In fact, it’s those who are criticizing Burke that are doing far more harm than good and are no doubt affecting her body image.

“I do constantly look in the mirror and say, ‘Oh, I have a fat roll here. Or am I skinny enough or am I fit enough?'” she said. “Now I just have to let it go and as long as I feel good and I’m happy that’s all that matters.”
