Jason Biggs jokes about Malaysia Airlines in wake of latest crash
It’s starting to seem like Jason Biggs is becoming more famous for ticking off people on Twitter than for his acting gigs.
As gruesome details and reports of the Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 crash scene in the Ukraine are starting to pour in, Biggs has created a war zone for himself on social media. After posting a series of tweets joking about the latest tragedy and infuriating many, the actor has been unapologetically defending his response to the crash.

Compared to some of Biggs’ previous tweets that have erred on the edgy side, Thursday’s posts are relatively benign. However, considering the scale of the event and the amount of casaulties involved, it seems the public was not ready to have a laugh. His opening tweet read simply, “Anyone want to buy my Malaysia Airlines frequent flier miles?” with which he followed, “In all seriousness tho-HOW DO YOU MISTAKENLY SHOOT DOWN A COMMERCIAL PLANE?! Ugh,” and, “It’s saddest for the victims and their families, obviously. But Malaysia Airlines is apparently a GREAT airline. Gonna be tough to recover.”

TheOrange Is the New Black actor then went on the defense, posting, “Hey all you ‘too soon’ a**holes- it’s a f***ing joke. You don’t have to think it’s funny, or even be on my Twitter page at all,” and, “Truly- you losers are literally trying to find shit to get angry about. Channel your issues elsewhere.” Biggs also wanted to make the point that he has empathy for the victims, despite his ill-timed humor.
This is not the first time Biggs has created backlash for joking about tragedy. In May, he also took to Twitter to joke about the death of The Bachelorette contestant, Eric Hill, who died suddenly the month before.
In June, Biggs also reignited a feud when he openly mocked the body of his former co-star, Tara Reid, on Joan Rivers’ web show.
As the victims’ loved ones are just learning of this horrific event, we have to say: Yes, Jason… it’s too soon. Even for joking.
