J.J. Abrams unveiled the new Star Wars X-Wing Starfighter this morning in a YouTube video pitch for the Star Wars: Force for Change campaign effort.

“Eight weeks ago, we announced that we were offering a chance to be in Star Wars: Episode VII as part of Star Wars: Force for Change, an initiative benefiting UNICEF and millions of kids around the world. We cannot tell you how grateful we are for your support,” Abrams says in the video.

As Abrams talks during the video, the camera slowly pans out to unveil the aircraft, which appears to have already seen its day in battle.

“So, for this final week, we’re offering you and a friend a chance to visit the set of Star Wars: Episode VII and be in the movie. But we’re offering something else: A chance to win an advanced screening of Episode VII before it hits theaters.”

Then, toward the end of the video, the pilot approaches a talking Abrams. “Oh, sure, go ahead,” Abrams says when the pilot explains he needs to pass. The pilot climbs inside, apparently prepping for takeoff.

At the very end of the video, a repair droid also scampers through the frame, “What’s that doing here?” Abrams asks, all in good fun.

Star Wars: Episode VII is due in theaters on Dec. 18, 2015. Watch the full video revealing the X-Wing Starfighter below.
