Chuck Palahniuk is finally dishing on Fight Club 2, which will be released as a 10-issue Dark Horse Comics maxi-series illustrated by Cameron Stewart. The collection will be released in May 2015.

The story will pick up 10 years after Fight Club and continue the tale of that of the unnamed insomniac, who was portrayed by Edward Norton in the 1999 film adaptation from director David Fincher. He now has a 9-year-old son named Junior and is married to the problematic Marla Singer.
The infamous Tyler Durden will also be returning to the story in a big way. Palahniuk told USA Today, “Tyler is something that maybe has been around for centuries and is not just this aberration that’s popped into his mind.”
Project Mayhem will also return to the fold, of course, when the narrator has to save his son whose life is in peril.
Palahniuk first mentioned he was playing around with a sequel accidentally at last year’s New York Comic Con.

“I messed up and said I was doing the sequel in front of 1,500 geeks with telephones,” Palahniuk said, according to USA Today. “Suddenly there was this big scramble to honor my word.”
Though it doesn’t seem like Palahniuk had to have his arm twisted much. The author related to the crises felt at each age. Where Fight Club was the struggle of an obedient child becoming a college graduate who still couldn’t make ends meet, Fight Club 2 will tackle the crisis of middle age, “where you’ve made it to a certain extent,” Palahniuk explained.
“You’re still not happy but for different reasons. Also the idea that if you suppress that wild, creative part of you — that Tyler part of you — do you lose the best part of you?”
Palahniuk is scheduled to be at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con next weekend on a panel with Fight Club film director Fincher. The news of the sequel definitely ups the excitement for their panel.
